Uploading your floor plan

Upload, annotate and reuse your site plan, and why Next stays greyed out.

Your floor plan is used across your Evacuation, Invacuation and Lockdown plans, so you only upload it once per site.

Step 1: Upload the plan

Upload a digital floor plan as a PDF or image. If you don't have one, you can take a clear photo of a paper plan or draw a simple layout and photograph that.

Step 2: Annotate it

Once uploaded, the plan opens in the editor. Mark the things your plans will refer to: exits, assembly points, lockdown areas and safe rooms. Use the tools on the left and click on the plan to place each marker. You can drag markers to reposition them.

Step 3: Save

Click Save. The step is marked complete and "Next" becomes available.

"Next" is greyed out after uploading

The assessment needs the annotation step done, not just the upload. Open the plan in the editor, add your markers and save. This applies to photographed plans as well as digital ones.

The plan looks tiny or won't zoom out

Use the fit-to-screen control in the editor toolbar. Very large scanned drawings are scaled to fit automatically.

Replacing a plan

Upload a new file from the site plan step. Your existing markers are kept where possible, so check them after replacing.

Reusing the plan for other plan types

Once complete for one plan type, the same plan and markers are available in the others. You don't need to upload it again.
