The Reasonably Practicable Test is PROVA's structured assessment of a site. Your answers produce a terrorism risk rating for the site and the list of procedures and mitigations you need to put in place under Martyn's Law.
How long it takes
Around 30 to 45 minutes if you know the site well. Have to hand: the site's peak attendance, its layout, current security arrangements, and who's responsible for what on the day.
What it asks
Questions are grouped into areas: the premises and its use, capacity, location and surroundings, existing security measures, and procedures. Most are multiple choice.
Saving a draft
Your answers save automatically as you go. Leave and come back whenever you need to; you'll resume where you left off.
Finishing
When you complete the assessment PROVA shows your ratings and generates your compliance report. Your mitigations and plan templates are set up from the results, and if the site qualifies for Enhanced Tier you're told at this point.
Retaking the assessment
You can retake it whenever something material changes: a refurbishment, a new use, a big change in attendance. Your previous result is kept in the site's history. While an Enhanced Tier assessment is in progress for the site, retaking is paused until it completes.
Threat level changes
When the national threat level changes, PROVA re-runs the scoring for every site automatically and tells your organisation. You don't need to redo anything unless your answers themselves have changed.
